Thank you for the confirmation, Michael!

  2. Hello. I have been playing with ISS APRS for some time. I have heard tens of stations from Portugal to Scandinavia to Turkey, furthest seems to be about 2200 km. I also managed to get my beacon there several times, similar to how you describe it in this nice article. As you say, I also started experimenting with messages. It seems that there is a special software for this, called UISS that simplifies the ISS and SAT packet operation if you are sitting in shack. Some people send APRS group bulletins with list of callsigns they heard in the pass. When I get such a bulletin with my call in, I respond via a „QSL“ message. The message not always gets digipeated, but if it does, you can consider that as two-way QSO then… Since I also use a handheld, the operation is not as comfortable and typing messages is a bit quirky, especially with Yaesu, Kenwoods are a bit better. Maybe one day I will try UISS from shack too, but this outdoor way is more appealing to me. 73 and GL with further SAT experiments!
